Yes, one can jump start with a car battery, but not conveniently, unless you do some modification such, as I have. I replaced the, hard to get to, phillips screws with easy to use thumb screws on the covers. After removing the battery covers I attach small jumper patch cords (can be purchased at Radio Shack as electronic assesories) to the cycle battery, to be joined to the much larger clips of automotive jumpers.
